Bootloader

Customizing the bootloader (U-Boot) is necessary to adapt it to specific hardware or to implement advanced features, such as redundant boot from multiple partitions or devices, automatic update systems, Secure Boot and file system encryption.

Kernel

Porting a specific kernel version to custom hardware, preparing BSPs that are specific and optimized for the application, implementing device drivers for non-standard peripherals: these are all activities that at Protech we carry out on a daily basis with the utmost competence, using the most up-to-date tools (Yocto Project).

User application

The added value of a Linux system lies entirely in the application. Our experience allows us to tackle any type of it, just to name a few examples: multi-threaded client-server systems, middleware for remote control and monitoring, human-machine interfaces (HMI) based on Qt or LVGL, update systems with initramfs. We can configure and modify existing Open Source software, if required, to adapt it to our customer's needs.
