Protech designs and develops circuits and electronic equipment for radio frequency (RF) applications:
We develop wideband optical links for ROF applications, customized according to the requirements of the specific application.
The ROF link converts the incoming RF signal into an optical signal on single-mode fiber, allowing it to travel long distances (10-100km) without degrading quality or intelligibility. A typical application is, for example, transferring the signal from a satellite antenna to a remote area where the receiving equipment is located.
Thanks to CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology, it is also possible to use a single optical fiber to send multiple wavelengths, enabling more compact links and minimizing fiber usage.
